Captain here: this map isn't well-known because pretty much everyone in the scientific community (except for the two authors) has concluded that it's based on a load of bullshit. Here's why, even Wikipedia can tell you this: "Richard Lynn and Tatu Vanhanen *constructed IQ estimates* for many countries using *literature reviews, student assessment studies and other methodologies* [...], which have been widely criticized on theoretical and methodological grounds." Reception by other researchers is as expected; just as an example of the dominant view: "we see an edifice built on layer upon layer of arbitrary assumptions and selective data manipulation. The data on which the entire book is based are of questionable validity and are used in ways that cannot be justified." (Wendy M. Williams & Susan M. Barnett, Cornell University)

I have a fairly high IQ but I still think it is a terrible measurement of intelligence, it only really shows how good you are at pattern recognition... if they could measure intelligence based on capability instead that would be much better, is there such a test?

Education and intelligence are two very different things, IQ only test one. Also when you realize that the Blues have been bombing Red's schools and hospitals for decades it can explain the division. This kind of map needs interpretation and knowledges of circumstances, without it it becomes a propaganda pamphlet for racism.

If you do an IQ test you'll see that it's a conplete load of bullshit. Why? Simply because it's verry subjective. If you are a genius writer but are completely paralel to maths and spacial awareness you will be cathegorised as having a low IQ.
