Strong and safe
Love this bed rail for cosleeping. My daughter fell off our high bed one night and I knew it was time to get safer. She is now 18 months old and can shake the bar and lean on it and I am never worried it will not hold her!

Box spring NOT required - fits fine on a flat top steel bed frame
I was a little discouraged by all the reviews stating that a box spring is REQUIRED for these bedrails but after looking at the pictures closely I decided to order two anyway. We just got our 3 year old a twin size bed and mattress and two of bedrails fit perfectly fine on a flat top steel bed frame. Take a look at the customer pictures, I posted two photos.

Great for cosleeping in my King
Before buying this I read the reviews and saw mixed opinions as to whether or not it would fit a king but I decided to take the risk. My king size bed has two smaller box springs. The ties for the rail definitely do not reach across both box springs so I made it work. I just reached it across one and flipped the anchor so the long part was facing down. We use this to cosleep with my almost 5 month old. She's just started rolling over so this is great to keep her from falling off the bed.

Worked Without Boxspring
I was hesitant to purchase this due to other reviews saying it wouldn't work without a boxspring, but we needed something to keep our 2 year old from falling out of bed and onto hardwood floors at night. We bought the Pottery Barn 'Catalina' bed which has slats and doesn't need a boxspring, but I decided to try this out anyway. While the adjustable cord part doesn't hook onto anything, the metal "arms" sit perfectly under the mattress and the whole thing is held in place by the side rail of the bed. This does make it impossible to lower the rail, but that isn't a feature I would use anyway. It ended up being a very secure solution to our problem and my daughter hasn't fallen out of her bed.

It works!
I am 84 years young. I now know that I am not 48 and my body is the same age. IWhat I did not know was I could fall out of bed! Now the fall was not my immediate concern, it was pulling myself up. Not wanting to go through this again I looked for and found this swing down bedrail. It does the job and keeps me in bed. You do need another person to help you attach it firmly to the bed and since it's down when you get into bed, I had to attach a cord to it so I could pull the rail up. I had to get use to the "lock" to keep it up, but the rail works and that's what matters. It does work!

Worked great in the hotel!
I wanted to take my 3 year old to the hotel, so I needed a bedrail that can be packed there, and this one looked very promising. However, when I received it, one of the metal rods were dented at the end in a such a way that it is not possible to insert the other rod into it like the instruction says. I didn't want to wait for my husband to come home and fix it, so I took some scissors and a hammer, put the scissors into the dented in end and pounded the hammer on it to force it to open. I didn't expect it to work because the scissors are not going to open it evenly, but I was able to open it up enough so that the other rod would go in a little bit. Then I pounded one rod onto the other rod until bit by bit, it went in past the catch and locked in! Wow! I was SO PROUD of myself! Despite my problems, I still love this bedrail because it was so much easier to put on the bed than the one I used at the Disney hotel in my last vacation. This bedrail, you just lift up the mattress slightly, put in one end, then lift up the mattress again on the other side and put in the other end. It comes with fastener cords that I just left there. The fasteners are good for long term usage to prevent the bedrail from sliding out but for just a few nights, there's no need. In comparison, the Disney bedrail was so difficult to shove under the mattress because it was a different design that squeezes the mattress (can't be good for the mattress). It does have one benefit over this Regalo version, in that the bedrail is slanted outwards over the bed, so there's no chance of the kid shoving his hands down the crevice between the bedrail and the bed. I solved that problem by rolling up a towel and put it in the crevice so that it is covered. And the Regalo bedrail doesn't hurt the mattress at all. My toddler slept well with it. I highly recommend this Regalo bedrail for home or traveling. I also recommend the bump bedrail as an alternative, especially for the middle of the bed to keep your kid from rolling onto your side in a hotel bed: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MCR7HC5/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Disclaimer: I only write positive reviews on Amazon nowadays because my negative reviews have been rejected lately, even though I'm a top reviewer. So if I don't like a product, I just don't leave a review.

Perfect for a Full Size Bed with Wooden Slats
This was perfect for our daughter's Full Size Bed and easy to put together, needed something to keep her from rolling off the bed, saw this one and thought the price was great. Her bed has the wooden slates under the mattress, wasn't planning on using the swing down feature with the way the bed was, and didn't seem to cause any issue with putting the toddler railing on. The railing doesn't move, it has the metal bars that go under the mattress, and a long strap with a "T" shaped hook that reaches pass the other side of the bed(seems big enough for a Queen size bed). I'm glad I made this purchase, exactly what I was hoping for. Photos attached

Buy this if you're going to cosleep
Man, why didn't I buy this sooner?! My baby was sick a lot at the beginning of the year so he'd end up in my bed a lot to nurse most of the night. My bed is really, really high and so he always stayed in the middle of the bed to make sure he didn't fall off...problem is that made that side very raw from nursing all night long. We bought this so I could put him on the other side of me and it works awesome. It was easy to install and use. I'd absolutely buy this again. I have a queen bed and works great.
